It was a direct successor to the popular Nokia 3110 and further refined the user experience with its intuitive menu system and robust build quality. Designed for reliability and ease of use, the 3110 quickly became a favorite among consumers seeking a dependable communication tool.

Design and Durability

Sporting a classic candy bar form factor, the Nokia 3110 was built to withstand the rigors of daily life. Its sturdy plastic casing and compact dimensions made it comfortable to hold and carry. The monochrome graphic display, while basic by today's standards, was perfectly adequate for displaying text messages, phonebook entries, and simple games. The physical keypad offered tactile feedback, ensuring accurate dialing and text input.

Core Functionality and Features

At its heart, the Nokia 3110 was a communication device. It excelled at making and receiving calls on the GSM 900 network and sending/receiving SMS messages. Beyond these essentials, it included practical features such as a clock, alarm, and calculator. For entertainment, users could enjoy pre-installed games like the iconic Snake, Logic, and Memory. A notable feature for its time was the inclusion of an infrared (IrDA) port, allowing for basic data exchange with compatible devices, a precursor to modern Bluetooth.

Battery Life and Legacy

One of the 3110's most celebrated attributes was its exceptional battery life, powered by a removable NiMH 900 mAh battery. Users could expect days of standby time and several hours of talk time, a crucial advantage in an era before ubiquitous charging points.
